Frank Sinatra High School for the Performing Arts
Queens, New York
147,000 square feet
Projected Completion: 2007

The design for this new 1,000-student public high school, whose curriculum emphasizes the visual and performing arts, seeks to celebrate the importance of the arts, encourage interaction among different artistic disciplines, and create a school that visually, spatially, and programmatically connects with the surrounding community. Opportunities to reinforce the importance of the arts and a distinctive community include expressing arts-related program spaces on the primary façade and gathering arts-related spaces together around a shared internal space on each floor.
