Government Office Building This administrative office building for 410 employees
of the Direction Départementale de l'Equipement, a collaborative
of national and local agencies overseeing public works in the Savoie region
of France, is intended to promote an image of technological progress and
the cooperative nature of public agencies and their users. Further development
of the region is a principal goal. Transparency is used both as a metaphor
for governmental accessibility and to exploit the spectacular views of
the Alps. The spine of the building is an atrium, which connects the three
office wings and organizes the building. Additional program spaces include
a cafeteria, auditorium/conference center and gallery. |
